KROGER TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL
Full time co-op at Kroger Technology & Digital (first rotation)
Product Design Intern | August – December 2025
OVERVIEW
Users were losing time during their workday, often spending time navigating to their work and tools they need. Right now, there are multiple disparate systems, and I was tasked with researching ways to streamline users' workflow, with a focus on exploring the potential of a task lists widget on the tool's dashboard.
ROLE
UX/UI Designer, Team | Led end-to-end UX research initiative, planned and conducted stakeholder interviews, synthesized qualitative data into actionable insights via affinity mapping, and communicated findings to the team.
GOALS
• Streamline users' workflow, with a focus on exploring the potential of a task list widget on the dashboard
• Create a solution for users to access their work from the dashboard
TOOLS
Figma, Mural, Microsoft Teams
DURATION
2 months, August-September 2025
RESEARCH APPROACH
USER INTERVIEWS
User interviews provided valuable insights into user needs and goals. Through these conversations, I identified key themes that informed the exploration of a tasks list widget.

To the left is a sample of my interview notes, where questions appear in dark turquoise and responses in a lighter shade. The next step was to synthesize findings from each session using the affinity mapping method to uncover recurring patterns and themes.
AFFINITY MAPPING
To synthesize the data from the interviews, I performed affinity mapping. This groups large volumes of data to help identify insights and themes. The gray represents the broader theme with the yellow representing sub-clusters. The colored stickies underneath are color-coded based on interviewee.

OUTCOME & RECOMMENDATIONS
• Proposed task list widget concepts that would surface routine tasks and provide direct access to tasks from a central dashboard
• Shared recommendations with product design teams to inform design and prioritization
• Anticipated goal: Reduce time-to-task for users, improve workflow satisfaction, and support overall productivity goals
TASK LIST WIDGET EXPLORATION
After evaluating the data and learning of user needs and goals, I explored task list widget options. After much UI exploration, I narrowed it down to two task list widget options. The UI choices were based on the insights and findings within the interviews.
