OVERVIEW
American Society of Civil Engineering is a club at the University of Cincinnati. They were looking into creating a new design for their t-shirts. They wanted it to be black and white and somehow incorporate the Great American Building in Cincinnati.
RESEARCH & SKETCHING
To begin the design process, the first step was to research what exactly Civil Engineering is. A huge part of the career is building bridges and buildings, so that was something to consider when thinking of ideas for this design. Since this club is at the University of Cincinnati, it needed something that represented the city. The Great American Building and the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge are well-known aspects to the city of Cincinnati.

ITERATIONS
The first design idea was to have buildings coming out at an angle from the construction hat. The ASCE logo would need to be incorporated in the design as well as a graphic to represent Cincinnati.
Revised Iterations
While exploring the idea of having the city of Cincinnati inside the construction worker's face, it felt like it was missing something. This led to the idea to add a crane to represent civil engineering more. The building, bridge, and crane were added to the inside of the face.
FINAL DESIGN
For the final design, the Cincinnati Bearcat's claw is being picked up by the crane instead of the regular letter "C" in the ASCE logo.
